Fishburn and Hughes: "A fourteenth-century Arab historian, the descendant of a politically influential Seville family who migrated to Tunis. Ibn Khaldun is regarded as the first Arab historiographer. His bestknown works are The History of Muslim North Africa and Mukaddima (1375-9).
