Fishburn and Hughes: "An Epistle traditionally attributed to St Paul, though its authorship is now disputed. It seeks to demonstrate the superiority of Christianity to Judaism. The Theologians: in chapter 9 the repeated yearly sacrifices of the high priest in accordance with the Old Covenant are contrasted with Christ's atonement which is eternal: 'So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear a second time without sin unto salvation' (9:28)."
